Does Okta have a security breach?

Okta says it will incorporate Spera's technology within its own product offerings, especially when it comes to "identity threat detection and response," where Spera's software will be used for compliance, reporting and threat prevention. Ironically, Okta suffered a security breach of its own in October.

Was Okta hacked?

Okta confirmed in October that a hacker used a stolen credential to access its support case management system and steal customer-uploaded session tokens that could be used to break into the networks of Okta customers. Okta told TechCrunch at the time that around 1% of customers, or 134 organizations, were affected by the breach.

When will Okta's Spera acquisition close?

Anticipated to close during the fiscal first quarter beginning in early February, the Spera acquisition will build on Okta's existing identity threat detection and response (ITDR) capabilities, Okta says, while equipping customers with tech to "elevate their identity security, posture management and identify, detect and remediate risks."

How much does Okta pay Spera?

The terms of the deal weren't disclosed, but Calcalist reports that Okta's paying approximately $100 million to $130 million for Spera, contingent on milestones.
